WHAT IS AWANA?

AWANA stands for APPROVED WORKMAN ARE NOT ASHAMED from II Timothy 2:15.

The two main goals of AWANA are to reach boys and girls through the gospel of Christ, and to train them to serve Him.

WHO IS AWANA FOR?

AWANA is offered for boys and girls ages 2 through 6^th grade.

PUGGLES: This group is for children ages 2 and younger threes.

CUBBIES: This group is for older threes through Pre K aged children.

SPARKS: This group is for children in K, 1^st, and 2^nd grade.

TRUTH & TRAINING: This group is for children in 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th grade.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

AWANA meetings are divided into four activities.

OPENING CEREMONIES – Children will pledge to the AWANA flag, and to the American flag. They will sing the AWANA theme song. Any announcements will be made. Then the children will be divided into their groups.

HANDBOOK TIME – During this segment, children will recite the Bible verses that they have memorized to their leaders. The leaders will explain to the clubbers what the verses mean. This segment is focused on children working independently, but will be offered two helps per section by the leaders.

GAMES and SNACK – Clubbers will compete with their peers in various games on the AWANA circle. Then they will have a small snack. Please make sure your children eat a good dinner before they come to meetings.

COUNCIL TIME – During this segment, clubbers will come back into the clubhouse and will learn a Bible lesson as a group. This may include storytelling, singing, reading, skits, etc. Children will stay in the clubhouse to be dismissed.

When is Awanas?

Awana meetings are held every Wednesday night here at RidgeLife Church.  The meetings take place from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
